SAP SD / TM Functional Lead

Department: Calhoun Information Technology
Location: Calhoun , GA

Mannington Mills is looking to add a SAP SD / TM Functional lead to the team in our Calhoun, GA office. The SAP Functional Consultant supports the business in the implementation and support of SD and TM module. This role uses technical skills, business knowledge, and SAP solution expertise to effectively integrate SAP technology into the business environment and achieve expected results.

SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) & TM (Transportation Management) lead

The SAP SD / TM Lead Consultant is responsible for managing the end-to-end sales and distribution and transportation module processes in SAP, including order management, pricing, billing, delivery and planning, execution, settlement of transportation processes. This role involves configuring and maintaining SAP SD and TM modules to meet business requirements, troubleshooting system issues, and working cross-functionally with other SAP modules like MM, FICO, PP and EWM. The role involves working with logistics teams to optimize freight management, configure transportation lanes, integrate with carriers, and ensure efficient shipping operations. The consultant will also support users, create documentation, and contribute to process improvements related to customer sales activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure SAP SD processes including sales orders, billing, and delivery
  • Maintain customer master data and pricing conditions
  • Support and enhance the order-to-cash cycle and aATP
  • Resolve system errors and provide end-user support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless integration
  • Participate in project rollouts, testing, and training sessions
  • Configure and support SAP TM functionalities like freight planning and execution
  • Manage carrier integration, transportation lanes, and master data
  • Optimize logistics operations and reduce transportation costs
  • Implement freight settlement and invoice reconciliation
  • Integrate with other modules (SD/MM/EWM) for end-to-end process flow
  • Provide training and support to logistics and transportation users

Job Duties:

1. Order Management:

  • Configure and manage sales order processing
  • Work with different sales document types (quotations, orders, contracts)

2. Pricing and Billing:

  • Set up pricing procedures, discounts, surcharges, taxes
  • Handle billing processes (invoices, credit/debit memos)

3. Delivery and Shipping:

  • Configure delivery types, picking, packing, and shipping
  • Integration with logistics and warehouse modules

4. Customer Master Data Management:

  • Create and maintain customer records
  • Set up account groups, partner functions, and credit limits

5. Integration with Other Modules:

  • Work closely with MM (Materials Management), FI (Finance), and TM
  • Ensure seamless end-to-end sales processes

6. Troubleshooting and Support:

  • Resolve issues related to sales documents, pricing, delivery, etc.
  • Support business users and train them when needed

1. Transportation Planning:

  • Optimize freight planning (route, carrier, cost)
  • Manual and automatic planning of shipments

2. Freight Execution:

  • Manage carrier communication
  • Monitor execution (pickup, in-transit, delivery)

3. Freight Settlement:

  • Set up and process freight cost calculation
  • Integration with SAP FI for carrier invoice handling

4. Master Data Setup:

  • Maintain transportation lanes, carriers, equipment types
  • Define zones and calendars for planning

5. Integration with SD/MM/EWM:

  • Align logistics execution with SD (for outbound) and MM (for inbound)
  • Integrate with EWM for warehouse coordination

6. Analytics & Reporting:

  • Provide insights on shipment performance, costs, delays
  • Use SAP Fiori apps or embedded analytics

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working with SAP SD and/or TM modules.
    • Proven experience in configuration, implementation, and optimization of SAP SD and TM functionalities.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of SAP SD and TM configuration.
    • Experience with integration of SAP SD and TM with other SAP modules (e.g., MM, PP, FICO, PP and EWM).
    • Experience of SAP S/4HANA is a plus.
    • Understanding of business processes related to manufacturing, production, and supply chain management.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
    • Excellent communication skills to clearly convey technical information to non-technical users.
    • Ability to work in fast-paced, project-driven environments.

Certifications:

  • SAP SD Certification or TM Certification is a plus.

Preferred Experience:

  • In-depth understanding of the manufacturing industry, supply chain processes, and sales strategies.
