SAP EWM / TM Functional lead – Job Description

Department: Calhoun Information Technology
Location: Calhoun , GA

The SAP EWM / TM Functional lead is responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, and support of the Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) module to optimize warehouse and logistics operations. This role ensures efficient goods movement, inventory management, and warehouse process execution through SAP EWM. The consultant collaborates with supply chain, logistics, and IT teams to deliver solutions aligned with business needs. This role requires strong integration knowledge with SAP SD, MM, and TM.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and customize SAP EWM processes (inbound, outbound, internal warehouse processes)
  • Design and implement solutions for warehouse structure, storage types, and bin management
  • Manage goods receipt, putaway, picking, packing, and shipping processes
  • Manage physical inventory and cycle count processes
  • Integrate EWM with SAP ERP (MM, SD, LE) and external systems
  • Support RF (Radio Frequency) device integration for warehouse operations
  • Define and maintain warehouse master data (storage bins, resources, activity areas)
  • Set up labor management, slotting/rearrangement, and wave management (if applicable)
  • Configure and support SAP TM functionalities like freight planning and execution (nice to have this experience)
  • Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide production support
  • Participate in testing, training, cutover, and go-live activities
  • Document functional designs, user guides, and standard operating procedures
  • Research and apply OSS notes as required to resolve issues
  • Monitor System performance and implement enhancements as needed
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standard in warehouse management
  • Develop test plans including test scenarios, executing unit testing, integration testing and end user acceptance
  • Work with End users resolving day-to-day help requests

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience in SAP EWM (Decentralized or Embedded) configuration and support
  • Hands on experience migrating from ECC to S4/Hana
  • Understanding of warehouse and supply chain business processes
  • Integration knowledge with SAP MM, SD, and TM modules
  • Experience with RF framework and warehouse task optimization
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP EWM certification
  • Experience with S/4HANA advanced EWM and TM
  • Familiarity with Fiori apps for EWM
  • Familiarity with ShipERP or other third party logistics integration software
  • Experience in industries with complex warehousing needs (e.g., retail, automotive, pharma)
