Shipping Clerk

Department: Phenix Flooring
Location: Dalton, GA

SHIPPING CLERK

Position Summary

This position is responsible for scheduling appointments, driver communications, and preparing shipments for loading.

Essential Functions

  • Perform duties in a safe manner utilizing all required personal protection equipment.
  • Safety Vest
  • Exhibit quality awareness to meet or exceed our customers’ expectations
  • Perform job in an efficient manner in order to meet our goals.

Position Responsibilities

  • Prints shipping labels in SAP system
  • Filing of paperwork for future reference
  • Email communications
  • Maintain list of inventory of office supplies
  • Handles FedEx shipment processing for plants EN and ET locations
  • Works with Customer Service through shared email box
  • Schedule pickup appointments
  • Communicates with freight checkers on loading dock to verify order accuracy
  • Dispatch loads for pickup
  • Updating daily warehouse reports
  • Printing and completing export documents
  • Closing out trailers and preparing pick up documentation
  • Backfill Logistics responsibilities as needed
  • Overtime will be required

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of SAP, Outlook, and Excel
  • General knowledge of shipping processes
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks and adapt to change

Competencies

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with SAP system

Education requirements
