Production Planning Analyst

Department: Madison Production
Location: Madison, GA

Overview:
The Production Planning Analyst plays a key role in ensuring efficient production operations by analyzing demand, developing production schedules, and coordinating materials and resources. This position works closely with operations, supply chain, procurement, and sales to optimize production plans, minimize costs, and meet customer delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor production schedules to meet customer demand, inventory targets, and operational efficiency goals.
  • Analyze sales forecasts, demand plans, and historical data to anticipate production needs.
  • Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure material availability and resolve shortages or delays.
  • Identify capacity constraints and recommend adjustments to balance workloads across production lines or facilities.
  • Track, measure, and report key production planning metrics (e.g., schedule adherence, on-time delivery, inventory levels).
  • Partner with manufacturing teams to adjust schedules in response to unexpected changes such as equipment downtime, supply issues, or rush orders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline planning processes, reduce lead times, and enhance supply chain efficiency.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems and planning tools to generate, monitor, and update production orders.
  • Provide data-driven insights to management for decision-making regarding resource allocation, labor planning, and cost reduction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in production planning, supply chain, or related role (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to interpret data and present recommendations clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • APICS/CPIM certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
